The Czech Republic uses the Czech Crown, CZK (in Czech – Česká koruna, Kč). The current rate is approximately 1 EUR = 24,33 CZK.

On most places or shops, you do not need cash at all. However, it is advisable to bring around 700 CZK (30 EUR) with you in cash to cover any pre-ordered merchandise, Officials’ Dinner and other possible spendings.

Money Exchange

If you need to change money in Czechia, please be aware of the exchange rate. Some places advertise “0% commission” but offer very poor rates. Below you can find some tips where to exchange money in Prague:

  • Czech Railways (ČD)– Directly at the Main Train Station in the ČD ticket office (floor -2)
  • Alfa Prague – Náměstí Republiky 1078/1, 110 00 Praha 1
  • Praha Exchange – Jindřišská 12, 110 00 Praha 1

We recommend changing money in Prague since there is a lack of exchange facilities in Karlovy Vary.
