About Karlovy Vary
Karlovy Vary, otherwise known as Carlsbad, is one of the largest spa towns in Central Europe. Located in the western part of the Czech Republic, it was founded in the 14th century by Charles IV. The city is famous for its hot springs, elegant colonnades and beautiful valley, formed by the confluence of the Teplá and Ohře rivers. Aside from its historic spa architecture, international film festival and unique local products, such as Becherovka or traditional spa waters, it is also an educational hub, consisting of the University of West Bohemia, as well as the College of Karlovy Vary, specialising in tourism, international relations and economics.
