The 21st Regional Selection Conference of EYP CZ will take place in Poděbrady, a historic spa city located in the Central Bohemian Region. Situated along the banks of the Labe, the second longest river in the Czech Republic, Poděbrady is home to around 15 000 inhabitants. Beyond the city’s welcoming atmosphere and picturesque spa parks, its rich history and remarkable monuments made it a natural choice for hosting our conference.  

The roots of Poděbrady trace back to the 13th century, in which the castle was built, later hosting the king George of Poděbrady.  The main turning point came in 1905 when, in the castle courtyard, the mineral medical spring ‘Poděbradka’ was discovered. This year was the 121st celebration of this discovery, which led to making Poděbrady a special spa town known around the whole world for its cardiovascular health benefits. That is why the traditional motto of Poděbrady is ‘For heart, there’s Poděbrady’, so we hope your heart will fall in love with them, just as ours did.
