Session Preparation

Weeks before the session

While wearing the casual look, you should opt for comfortable and practical clothes. Put on anything that offers the most comfort and makes you feel good so you can move around and participate in all the activities!  Wear everyday attire, such as jeans, a shirt or a t-shirt. Keep in mind that part of the Teambuilding will take place outside so do not forget to dress according to the weather conditions.

Events: Teambuilding

The week of the session is the perfect time to make sure you’re all set for the activities. Here are the key things to do:

  • Introduce yourself to your Committee – Your Chairperson has probably already reached out, asking for a short introduction. Send it over and take a moment to read messages from your fellow Delegates.
  • Read the Topic Overview – If you haven’t yet, now’s the time! It’ll help you follow discussions in your committee and contribute effectively.
  • Do some extra research – The Academic Preparation Kit covers the basics, but looking up more information will help you bring valuable insights to the discussions.
  • Skim through the rest of the Academic Prep Kit – Having a general idea of other Committees’ topics will help you stay engaged during the General Assembly and contribute meaningfully.
  • Send your signed Code of Conduct to the Organisers – This makes check-in quicker and gives you one less thing to worry about while packing.
  • Catch up on schoolwork – Check for any upcoming deadlines so you don’t end up writing an essay when you should be enjoying the session.
  • Start packing – Figure out what you need to bring, make sure your clothes are clean, and double-check you haven’t misplaced anything important.
  • Plan your Eurovillage meal – Decide what you want to make, get the ingredients, and coordinate with your delegation to avoid duplicates.

Getting these things sorted will make your session experience much smoother.

Days before the session

The day before the session is your last chance to get everything sorted. Here’s how to make the most of it:

  • Check the Packing List – The Organising Team has put together a list of everything you’ll need, so go through it to make sure you haven’t forgotten anything.
  • Pack any extras – The list covers the essentials, but if you need personal items like a pillow or a blow-dryer, don’t forget to add them.
  • Don’t overpack – Bring only the items you really need and make sure your bags are easy to carry.
  • Charge your devices – Bring your chargers, but also fully charge your phone, laptop, or anything else you’ll be using.
  • Sort out school stuff – Ask a couple of classmates to fill you in on anything you’ll miss and share their notes.
  • Prepare your Eurovillage food – If your meal needs cooking, the night before is usually the best time to get it ready.

With everything packed and prepped, you’ll be all set for an awesome session!

One day before the session

It’s finally here! All your prep has led up to this. Here’s how to make sure your morning sets you up for a great session:

  • Bring your Code of Conduct – If you haven’t sent an electronic copy, don’t forget to bring it with you. You won’t be able to take part without it.
  • Go through the Packing List one last time – Make sure you’ve got everything.
  • Pack any personal essentials – This includes medication or anything else you personally need.
  • Do not forget your Eurovillage meal – It would be a shame to leave it behind after all that effort!
  • Count your luggage – Keep track of how many things you’re bringing so you don’t lose anything while traveling.

Now you’re all set—time to head off and enjoy the session!
