Your role at the conference
Motivation of Your Students
Conferences are not only about representing your school, work and knowledge. Their primary aim is to encourage networking and enhance diverse skills in our participants. Another benefit of attending EYP conferences is the engagement in multicultural dialogue. Each year, Delegates depart from these conferences with enhanced proficiency in the English language and newfound confidence in connecting to a broader audience.
Eurovillage
As for Eurovillage, each delegation is assigned a cuisine of a European country, from which they prepare food for the other participants. Even though it is mostly their task, please do not be afraid to help your students by preparing some food yourself, or check, whether they have something prepared. It is both a great way to try new food as well as to learn new cooking techniques.
Communication before the conference
An important thing to keep in mind is communication. We will make sure to provide you and your students with useful information, therefore please check your emails regularly.
Preparation for Committee Work
After being assigned to their Committees, Delegates will receive an Academic Preparation Kit. Feel free to encourage them to read the Topic Overview of their assigned Committee and discuss questions regarding their topics with them. The better the students are prepared, the less work they have to do during the session itself. Please encourage them to educate themselves on their assigned topics, seeing as it is going to help ease their workload during the session.
Communication during the conference
Your students are bound to gain a lot of new experiences and ideas. Simply by listening to them, you will instil a sense of enthusiasm and encourage them to persist in their pursuits.
Appreciating the work of your Students
Acknowledgment and praise are some of the most valuable rewards. The recognition of their accomplishments within the classroom or in the company of fellow teachers will undoubtedly bring them great joy as well.
Dress code
Some of the participants tend to underestimate the importance of following the dress code of different parts of the conference, resulting in potential discomfort. Initiating a discussion on this matter can effectively prevent the negative feelings that students experience.
