Information for Teachers
Eurovillage
Each participant will be assigned cuisine of a European country and is expected to prepare or purchase food for other participants. Although this is primarily the responsibility of the Delegates, we would greatly appreciate it if you could supervise your school Delegation’s choices to ensure that individual courses are not repeated and there is sufficient dietary variety. In doing so, you may also discover new foods and traditions alongside your students.
We kindly ask you to remind your Delegates to bring their own plates, cutlery and cups. While we will provide paper plates and cups, our goal is to reduce the consumption of disposable tableware.
Motivation
EYP conferences are more than an opportunity to represent your school, it is a fun and creative way to educate and interest the youth in politics, while helping students develop important skills that will be beneficial in the future.
We aim to make students as comfortable and supported as we can. However, we deeply appreciate any form of motivation from you, someone Delegates already know and trust.
And it’s not only students who have something to look forward to at this conference. You too can expect an engaging and educative programme that will allow you to see the best of our conference while exploring the beautiful city of Hradec Králové.
Communication before the Conference
All the key aspects of the conference will be sent directly to your email before the session. We kindly ask you to check your email regularly to ensure that you receive all the necessary details.
Preparation for Committee Work
Once Delegates are assigned to their Committees, they will receive the Academic Preparation Kit. Please, remind them that the more thoughtfully they understand their topic beforehand, the smoother, easier and more enjoyable the entire session will be for them. The best way to prepare for the conference is by reading Topic Overviews and then doing individual research and finding their own resources. If you would like to ensure that your Delegates are well prepared, we suggest reviewing the topics with them during an English lesson.
Appreciating the Work of your Students
Being recognised and praised is single-handedly one of the best rewards an active student could ever receive. Please, keep in mind that a single sentence of encouragement or praise could change somebody’s entire week. Acknowledging your students’ achievement and work in front of them means a lot to them and can change the way they see themselves.
Communication during the Conference
The conference can be an overwhelming experience for Delegates, which is why your support and words of encouragement are invaluable. We dearly appreciate your dedication and believe that, through your guidance, Delegates will grow and thrive. Because of you, they can grow and experience something exceptional. So please, offer them support and the opportunity to talk to you if they are looking for a bit of motivation to keep pushing forward. Maybe your words will be the ones to boost their confidence to speak up and find their voice.
Dress Code
While Delegates often prepare for Committee Work, they may underestimate the importance of the Dress Code. That leads to uncomfortable situations for both Delegates and Officials. During the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, guests and speakers will be present, and we would appreciate it if everyone were to dress in a presentable way. So, we kindly suggest that you talk to your students about it beforehand to avoid any misunderstandings and ensure they are dressed according to the conference’s Dress Code.
