Getting around Brno

We recommend using Google Maps for finding public transport connections in Brno.

Arriving to Main Train Station or bus station Hotel GRAND

If you arrived by train to Brno Main Train Station (Brno hlavní nádraží), or by bus to Brno – AN Hotel GRAND, you need to take a short walk to the Hlavní nádraží tram stop. The next steps are divided by groups of participants:

Officials

From there, take tram 9 towards Lesná, Čertova Rokle to Moravské náměstí, where you need to change to tram 5 towards Štefánikova čtvrť. Get off at the final stop, Štefánikova čtvrť.

From this stop, continue along Kotěrova Street for approximately 300 metres until you reach the dormitories.

Delegates & Teachers

From there, take tram 9 towards Lesná, Čertova Rokle to Bibelova stop.

From the tram stop, take the underpass and walk along Generála Píky Boulevard for around 200 metres until you reach the venue on your left.

Public transport in Brno

If you want to buy tickets in Brno, there are two options:

  • You can purchase classic paper tickets from the vending machines at bus stops or inside trams. We recommend buying a ticket called “2 zóny/60 min”. This ticket costs 25 CZK (1 EUR) and is valid for 60 minutes on all public transport in Brno.
  • Alternatively, if you have a contactless payment card, you can use it to check in at the ticket reader when you get on the tram. If your journey is shorter than 15 minutes, you can use the same card to check out at the ticket reader when you get off. The system will automatically issue the correct ticket for your journey, so there is no need for a paper ticket.

Getting around Prague

To get around Prague we highly recommend using public transport, which is known for its accuracy and reliability. If you want to use taxi, please, use Uber or Bolt apps only.

Public transport in Prague

Navigating the city of Prague is straightforward. To search connections, you can use Google Maps, idos.cz, or the local PID Lítačka app. You can also buy tickets in Lítačka very easily.

Tickets for the public transport in Prague

Ticket options include 30 min for 30 CZK (1,23 EUR), 90 min for 40 CZK (1,64 EUR) and many more.

You can buy your ticket in the PID Lítačka app or in small orange machines located inside the buses and trams (card only). These tickets do not need to be validated – they are valid from the moment of purchase.

Additionally, you can buy your tickets in big yellow vending machines, which are in every metro station and on most of the tram stations. Here you can use both cash (CZK) or card. These tickets need to be validated!

You can find more detail information and instructions regarding tickets and public transport here.

From the airport to the Main Train Station

We recommend taking the direct AE bus from the airport to the Main Train Station to get from the airport to the station. The journey costs 200 CZK (around 8 EUR) and takes approximately 45 minutes.

Alternatively, you can take the regular public transport, which is cheaper. However, you will need to change twice.

From the airport to the city centre

If you need to get to the city centre, use the trolleybus number 59 to Nádraží Veleslavín metro station. The metro will take you to the city centre. The whole trip takes around 40 minutes.

Do not forget to validate your tickets!
