18th Regional Selection Conference of EYP CZ Hradec Králové 2025

The 18th Regional Selection Conference of EYP CZ Hradec Králové 2025 will take place at the beginning of December this year. The conference will be attended by 100 Delegates secondary school students from all over the Czech Republic and abroad aged 15 to 18 as well as 50 international facilitators from all over Europe. During the session, Delegates will work in groups (called Committees) to discuss and debate pre-selected topics and try to come up with specific solutions (called resolutions).

Under the motto “Balancing the Scales of Unity”, the 18th Regional Selection Conference of EYP CZ Hradec Králové 2025 will emphasise the importance of diversity in society and the protection of its identity. Discussions will focus on current topics such as the protection of cultural heritage, minority rights, and the risks associated with disinformation channels.

The event will also feature a rich accompanying program. This includes, for example, a panel debate during which students will have the opportunity to further discuss the above-mentioned topics with experts from relevant fields. The students’ work on the resolutions will also be accompanied by consultations with experts who will be able to provide Delegates with a practical perspective.

The conference will be followed by the 4th Roundtable Weekend of EYP CZ Prague 2026, which will be attended by 60 selected Delegates from both regional selection conferences. Students will have the unique opportunity to participate in workshops and roundtables with experts from various fields.

About Hradec Králové

Hradec Králové, situated in the north-eastern part of Bohemia at the confluence of the Elbe and Orlice rivers, is the capital of the Hradec Králové Region. It is one of the oldest and most significant Czech cities and is renowned for its elegant urban planning and architectural harmony, where Gothic and Baroque monuments blend seamlessly with early 20th century modernist designs by renowned architects like Jan Kotěra and Josef Gočár. Thanks to these two architects, the city also became known as The Salon of the Czech Republic. At th centre of the city lies the Large Square, which is dominated by beautiful landmarks of the White Tower and the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit.

Hradec Králové, furthermore, is also known as an important education and research hub, hosting the University of Hradec Králové and several medical and scientific institutions.

Its cultural life thrives through theaters, music festivals, and galleries, while the nearby countryside and riverbanks invite cycling, walking, and other outdoor activities, making the city both historically rich and pleasantly livable.
