About EYP

The European Youth Parliament (EYP) is a student non-profit, politically neutral organisation, providing one of the largest platforms for non-curricular education in Europe. It gives its participants a forum to develop and express their opinions on a wide range of topics. By bringing young people from different backgrounds together, it builds intercultural understanding and friendships across borders. Thousands of young people from all over Europe are actively involved in the organisation, making it truly youth-driven – for young people, by young people.

European Youth Parliament CZ, the Czech branch of the network, was founded in 1998. Our National Committee organises two Regional Selection Conferences and one National Selection Conference per year, however, besides those it offers many other educational events and informal gatherings for its members.

About the Motto & Logo

The vision of our session reads as follows: “Europe as a commitment”. We have selected this motto, a quote from the Czech Republic’s first President Václav Havel, because we believe it provides us with the perfect background for reflecting on the elections to the European Parliament.

In today’s turbulent world, we stand at crossroads. With the rise of totalitarian and authoritarian politics, along with many additional economic, health, and social issues across the globe, it is affecting us Europeans as well. We must realise our responsibility and commitment towards our future generations for leaving Europe, our home, if not better, at least a habitable place.

As the Czech Republic among with 9 other countries celebrates its 20th year anniversary of their membership in the European Union, we would like to highlight inclusivity, diversity, and equality. We recognise that Europe is a tapestry of cultures, languages, and perspectives, and it is through embracing this diversity that we can truly strengthen our collective identity.

To borrow a quote from the originator of our motto: “Europe is a common shared destiny, a common complicated history, shared values, a common culture of life.” By fostering open communication, we aim to create a session where every voice is heard, where differences are celebrated, and where meaningful connections are forged.

About Litoměřice

The former royal city located at the confluence of the Elbe and Ohře rivers was chosen as the host city for the 15th Regional Selection Conference of EYP CZ  Litoměřice 2024. It is not for nothing that the surroundings of Litoměřice are called the Gardens of Bohemia, because thanks to its unique, inaccessible location, it has escaped industrialization. This can also be seen in the historical centre of the town, where Gothic and Renaissance styles are mixed.
