Sustainable travelling

Protecting the environment is one of the values that EYP aims to spread among the young active citizens of Europe. We take into account the difficulty of travelling sustainably, quickly, and moderately cheaply from all parts of Europe to one place. Still, we highly encourage you to consider less carbon-producing means of travel such as taking a train, a bus, or one direct flight to near Ostrava. Thank you for taking this into consideration when booking your tickets.

Getting to Prague from the airport

To begin with take the AE (Airport Express), which takes you straight to Praha hlavní nádraží, Prague’s Main Train Station in the centre of the city. The interval is 15-20 minutes, the ride is around 40 minutes, and it costs 100 CZK (4EUR).

Getting around Prague

As Praha’s public transport is second best in the world only losing to Berlin, getting around the city is a breeze. Tickets for the Prague public transport can be bought from the yellow PID (Prague Integrated Transport) vending machine with cash or card, most newsdealers’ stands, or contactlesslly by card inside the bus or tram in the orange validation machines, usually located behind the doors in the middle of the vehicle. You can buy the 30 or 40 CZK options, with them being 30 and 90 minutes long respectively.

Please note that if you bought the ticket separately and not in the bus and it therefore looks like the one below, you need to validate it in the yellow validation machines inside the bus or tram, or before the escalators for the metro or on the platform before entering a local train. For more information, please check out the official website of Prague Integrated Transport

Getting to Litoměřice

If you take the train, you have three routes you can take. All of these trains start at Praha hlavní nádraží (Praha hl. n.). You need to get to the city centre, to Praha hlavní nádraží

  1. From there, you can hop on a train in the direction of Mladá Boleslav hl.n. or Mělník, making your exit at station Všetaty, where you transfer to the final train which takes you to Litoměřice město
    •  Os 95_ (S3), then Os 64_ (S32): Praha hl.n. -> Všetaty, Všetaty -> Litoměřice město
    • R 11_ (R21), then R13_ (R23): Praha hl.n. -> Všetaty, Všetaty -> Litoměřice město
  2. The next route is by transferring in Lovosice from a train in the direction of Děčín hl.n. Once you get to Lovosice use the train in the direction of Česká Lípa hl.n. Do not (!!!) get off at Litoměřice Cihelna, but Litoměřice horní nádraží.
    • R 68_ Labe (R20), then Os 61_ (U11): Praha hl.n. -> Lovosice, Lovosice -> Litoměřice horní n. (The blank spaces are stand-ins for number which can change on the time of departure)

The other route is similar from the start to the first one. Make your way to the final stop of the C line in the direction of Letňany. Please make sure not to get lost there, make your exit at Exit E5 and head to platform L. Where you transfer to a bus number 413, the trip takes something over an hour, getting out at the final stop, Litoměřice aut. nádr.

Getting from Vienna to Litoměřice is not complicated at all. The easiest route you can take is by train from Wien Hbf to Praha hlavní nádraží and continuing as already mentioned above. This trip in total takes around six hours.

And if you trust buses more, you can take them from Vienna Erdberg (VIB) to Prague (Main Station – building), continuing as mentioned.
