ParExcellence online

Dear everyone,

while recalling all the beautiful moments from Pardubice, you might find it useful to have a look at the newspapers again. As you’ve been informed several times by now, they are definitely worth it.

You can read or download them here or in the Media section.

We wish you a bearable PED

Thank you

Dear everyone,

we are once again (and probably for the last time) facing difficulties with expressing everything what we would like to say.

Altogether, we spent amazing 4 days in Pardubice. Those days passed very quickly, as if it were only 4 minutes. However, we’ve experienced things that would suffice for 4 years. We enjoyed every moment of the session to its maximum.

From the organisational point of view, we feel satisfied and relieved, since nothing can go wrong anymore. We are deeply honoured and thankful that such a great bunch of people gathered in Pardubice and lived the session with us.

Dear delegates, thank you for sacrificing your free time and sleep in order to spend your weekend by discussing European issues. We did our best to make it worth it.
Dear chairs
, thank you for being excellent leaders for our freshmen and further encouraging them to continue with EYP.
Dear journalists, thank you for producing such remarkable newspapers, which added an extra value to the session.
Dear organisers, you were the team of our dreams. We will love you forever.

In case you would like to share some thoughts with us, you have several options:
- comment on this article
- write something on our Facebook page
- send us an e-mail – drzkova@eyp.cz, suranova@eyp.cz

And what to do next?
- upload your photos (we are very much looking forward to looking at them)
- build a school delegation (5 people)
- apply for the XIV. National Selection Conference in Carlsbad!

We are looking forward to seeing you there

With love
Veronika & Dorotka

Packing? No problem with our checklist

Dear delegates,
with the beginning of the session coming closer, our anxiety is reaching its top. We truly hope you cannot wait to attend the Czech Forum either. Before arriving to Pardubice on Thursday morning, all of you will need to pack. So what should you add to your packing checklist?

  • Legal documents – Parental consent form AND Code of conduct – filled out and signed
  • Money and / or credit/debet cards (for committee dinner and the evening programme)
  • Appropriate clothing:
Teambuilding: Comfortable sports/outside activity clothing (waterproof)
    Czech Village:
    Casual or national costumes
    Committee work
: Smart (Jeans are okay, but no jeans or t-shirts with holes)
    General assembly:
Dress Code: Formal (skirts, dresses or suits for ladies; suits and ties for gentlemen)
  • Research notes (anything interesting concerning your topic – articles, studies etc.)
  • A mug /a plastic cup (this way we can keep the Earth clean and the participation fee relatively low)
  • Czech village:
Items, food and drinks for your regional table
Cutlery, plastic cups and plates, napkins (a knife would come in handy).
  • Pyjama for the Farewell costume party

We are very much looking forward to seeing you in Pardubice.

Yours

Starting in a few days

As the time passes, we have come to the point when the beginning of the session is just around the corner. We cannost possibly express how much we are looking forward to meeting all of you soon.

Now, our dear delegates, you are at home, preparing for the session by reading the amazing topic overviews you have been provided with and looking up additional information. Surely, such activity will be of priceless help during the Commitee Work.

The last preparations are keeping us busy as well. And you too. Get ready because soon you are about to experience something you have never experienced before.

Registration of delegates now open

Today, we opened the registration of delegates; if you are interested in participating at the 8th Czech Forum, you should apply using the online registration form on this website. There are no criteria besides that you should be 15 or older and study at a secondary school (e.g. ‘gymnázium’, ‘OA’ etc.) in the Czech Republic.

We are not setting any fixed deadline. Last year, the capacity (70) was reached before the official deadline; applications this year will simply work on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis. We will post an announcement when the number of applicants will be close to the full capacity. Also please note that in order to ensure an atmosphere of diversity, there is a limit of 7 students per school.

The participation fee is 800 CZK and delegates are expected to arrive before 11 a.m. on Thursday 24th November.

Just like last year, you will be able to select your preferred topics prior to the session. The topics will not be finalised until the next week, though. Nevertheless, you are welcome to register already now and we will contact you by e-mail as soon as the topic will be ready.

Should you have any questions, please write a comment under this post so that others can also view the question and answer. You can also contact us directly if you wish so.

See you in Pardubice!

Application CJOs

Dear CJO applicants,

make sure that before signing up, you UPDATE YOUR SESSION HISTORY on the platform. It’s the only source of your EYP experience we have. Therefore, it’s for your own good to have there all the sessions you’ve attended.

Cheers!
